Program Descriptions

Mondays

Story Time Chess | 2:45-3:30 pm | Grades 3s-Pre-K | $550

Story Time Chess is a fun, silly, and strategic chess program designed especially for young learners. With over 15 years of experience teaching in New York City, we engage children ages 3 to 6 through imaginative storytelling, where chess pieces come to life as unforgettable characters on exciting adventures. Students build real strategic thinking skills while developing confidence and learning how to navigate winning, losing, and problem-solving. Story Time Chess proudly serves as a foundational “feeder” program to the US Chess Academy (also a Dwight School partner), helping students build the skills to continue into more advanced play or simply enjoy the game while gaining the lifelong benefits that chess provides. Get ready for big laughs, bold moves, and a lifelong love of chess! Learn more at: www.storytimechess.com

Mondays

Master Builders: Architecture | 3:30-4:45 pm | Grades 2-4 | $627

At KidzArchitects, curious minds dive deeper into the built environment by exploring how cities and spaces are designed — and how they could be reimagined. Through hands-on projects and collaborative challenges, children unlock their creative and analytical skills. They analyze real spaces, sketch their ideas, and recreate iconic buildings from around the globe. Working in teams, they prototype their own dream cities, schools, or eco-neighborhoods. Students begin to read simple architectural plans, grasp the concept of scale, and link environmental needs with construction choices. Step by step, they learn how to express their ideas through drawings, models, and teamwork — turning imagination into real, tangible creations.

Mondays

Chess Adventures | 3:30-4:45 pm | Grades K-4 | $627

Enjoy the ultimate class as we explore the exciting world of chess. Dive into interactive lessons, learn from legendary battles, and master the strategies of chess greats like Bobby Fischer and Magnus Carlsen. With practice tournaments and engaging play, every session is an adventure designed to enhance your child’s skills. Is your child ready to become a master strategist and have fun? Join us for an adventurous chess journey from U.S. Chess Academy! Students will be assessed during the first day of the program and grouped according to levels.
