AFTER-SCHOOL GENERAL INFORMATION 

Our After-School Program offers a wide variety of specialty classes and activities per term. Term sessions’ length and cost can vary; sessions are held from 2:30-3:30 pm for 3s-Pre-K or 3:30-4:45 pm for K-grade 4 unless otherwise stated on our schedule.

There are no exceptions to policies in this document; please be familiar with the policies before registering your child for after-school programs.

HEALTH OFFICE

  • The Health Office is open daily from 8 am until 5 pm.  

  • In the event that the healthcare provider is not available, we have an adequate number of faculty and staff members who are First Aid and CPR-AED trained to respond to medical emergencies during after-school programs.

SECURITY POLICIES

  • In order to maintain a productive and safe environment for all Dwight community members, we request that all parents and guardians wear their School-issued parent/caregiver ID badges when dropping off and picking up children. Please note that new families will receive their ID badges at the beginning of the school year.

  • Our Security team is strictly enforcing this policy. 

FINANCIAL AID

  • Financial aid for After-School programs and Clubhouse extended day service is available to families receiving financial aid from the school. You will receive communication regarding your financial aid package from the Financial Aid Department.

REGISTRATION

  • Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Programs have limited capacity. A waiting list is available and based on the order of sign-up.

  • Please review the living 2024-25 After-School Calendar, with important key dates and registration timeline.

  • Confirmation of registration with more details will be sent shortly before the start of the program.

  • Dwight After-School reserves the right to cancel any after-school class that does not have adequate enrollment. You will be notified of any cancellations prior to the first week of programming.

  • Full payment is due at time of registration.

ATTENDANCE

  • Students are expected to follow the same standards of conduct and behavior while in their after-school programs that are required during the regular school day. Failure to do so can result in removal from the program.

  • Students who are not at school before 11:40 am may not participate in after-school programs and Clubhouse that day. 

  • If a student is absent from school on any given day, then they cannot attend After-School programs.

SNACK

  • A healthy, no-nut snack and a water bottle are encouraged for all After-School programs. Please pack a labeled extra snack for after-school/Clubhouse in your child’s backpack. Kindly note that After-School/Clubhouse does not provide snack for students.

TECHNOLOGY

  • Students are not to use cell phones or wear smartwatches during after-school programming. 

DISMISSAL/PICK-UP

  • If you have a change in pick-up, or if your child is going home with another family member/caregiver, please email [email protected]. In addition, please forward any caregiver information to [email protected].

  • Kindly note that any adult picking up a student from an after-school program or from Clubhouse must have a school-issued ID badge.

  • During after-school hours, 2:30-5:30 pm, please contact [email protected] for emergencies or any late changes to pick-up. You can reach the main desk at 94th Street Campus by dialing 212-724-6360.

  • Failure to pick up your student at time of program dismissal will result in an associated fee.

  • Dwight After-School reserves the right to remove any student from an after-school program/club due to repeated late pick-ups. No refunds will be issued.

 

AFTER-SCHOOL REFUNDS AND CLASS CHANGES

  • Please notify us after the first day of class if you would like to cancel or transfer your registration, as there are NO REFUNDS after the first week of programming. There are no exceptions to this policy; please be familiar with the policy before registering your child for after-school programs. 

  • Class changes: Class withdrawals are subject to the refund policy. Due to strict enrollment capacity, we will not be able to accommodate all change requests. There will be a $50 surcharge for each change made after the first week of programming.

  • In the event of inclement weather or other unforeseeable circumstances, after-school programs may close, and advance notice will be given. No refunds/credits will be given.

  • Dwight After-School does not offer make-up classes or refunds for any missed classes due to students being absent from school or illness.

3s & PreK PIANO PRIVATE LESSONS POLICIES

PIANO PRIVATE LESSONS

  • Private piano lessons are one-on-one, 30-minute sessions for students in the preschool 3s and Pre-K.

  • Sign-up is on a  first-come, first-served basis.

  • A waiting list is available and based on the order of sign-up. Tuition is non-refundable after the first lesson.

  • There are no refunds for any missed  instrument lessons.

  • Students with private piano lessons can join the Clubhouse Program  before their lessons at no additional charge. However, extra fees will be incurred if a student is not picked up on time after their lesson or if they use the clubhouse service after their lesson. 

  • Financial Aid/discount can not be applied to private music lessons.

  • If your child is absent from school, there are no make-up lessons.

  • If a student is absent from school on any given day, then they cannot attend their private lesson.
