Super Soccer Stars | 3:30-4:45 pm | K-1 | $440
This soccer program will focus on teaching your child to be comfortable with the ball by further developing soccer skills such as dribbling and shooting, and an introduction to passing. The soccer program from Super Soccer Stars includes partner activities to promote sharing, listening, respect, and cooperation. Physical activities include dynamic exercises like moving with pace, changing directions, and lateral agility.

Enjoy the ultimate class for kindergarten-grade 4 as we explore the exciting world of chess. Dive into interactive lessons, learn from legendary battles, and master the strategies of chess greats like Bobby Fischer and Magnus Carlsen. With practice tournaments and engaging play, every session is an adventure designed to enhance your child’s skills. Is your child ready to become a master strategist and have fun? Join us for an adventurous chess journey from U.S. Chess Academy! Students will be assessed during the first day of the program and grouped according to levels.

This class is designed for both new players, and returning learners eager to hone their skills. These classes feature fun games that are perfectly suited to advance your child’s hand-eye coordination and balance while developing a love for tennis.

Comics, Webcomics, Manga, & More! | 3:30-4:45 pm | K-Grade 1 | $550
If you love Marvel, reading comics, drawing, or telling stories, this course is for you! All ages and skill levels are welcome! We’ll cover each step in the process of making a comic at each individual student's pace. These steps include: Writing our own script outlines, conceptualizing characters, worldbuilding, "penciling" comics on official comic book art boards, inking, coloring, posting short stories on webcomic hosts such as Tapas, and much more!

Dodgeball Mania | 3:30-4:45 pm | Grades 1-2 | $550
Duck and go! Mr. Presti and Mr. Panahi will offer this very popular game as an after-school activity. Whether your child likes to charge the line with an amazing throwing arm or prefers to hide and wait with the sneakiness of a chess master, a classic game of dodgeball offers fun and excitement to every style of player.

“Music Wiz:” Rock Band/Orchestra/Vocal | 3:30-4:45 pm | Grades 1-4 | $550
Welcome to our very popular and fun musical enrichment after-school program, led by Ms. Zambetti! As we celebrate the program’s twelfth birthday, we invite our students to experience its many holistic benefits. Your child will explore a wide variety of the instruments of classic rock band and orchestra, as well as sing and create original music through multiple shared group experiences. A great creative and physical energy outlet, this program beautifully complements our students’ general music curriculum as well as private music instruction, providing an organic opportunity to further implement their musical skills in a less formal and vibrant social environment. Please note that our beloved Spring Spotlight show is back this year at our new 94th Street Campus! This is a wonderful tradition where your children get to share their many musical talents with you. Stay tuned (no pun intended) for the save-the-date details.

Debate | 3:30-4:45 pm | Grades 2-4 | $550
In this interactive program, students will learn how to form their own opinions, speak to each other peacefully with differing opinions, practice empathy, and regulate their nerves before speaking in a room. The art of speech and debate also addresses how to formulate speeches, rebuttals, and their importance in a mock trial. Students will learn mindfulness with breathing and how to use the diaphragm, as well as play interactive games while learning key concepts like perspective and empathy.

Kicks Run Club | 3:30-4:45 pm | Grades 1-2 | $550
Kicks Run Club is NYC's leading running experience for children ages 4-18. The primary goal of Kicks is to help young athletes become better runners and happier, healthier kids! Each session will include a warm up, brief lesson, running game, age-appropriate distance run in varied locations, and lots and lots of fun! Each season, runners will train in a fun and supportive environment and participate in exciting community races. Running is scientifically proven to make children physically, mentally, and emotionally stronger. Through team running, children begin to set and achieve goals while learning the importance of sportsmanship. Studies have shown that children who run outdoors experience reduced levels of stress and anxiety, and gain focus and concentration in their everyday lives. In a time where screens take center stage, it is more critical than ever to get our children outside, breathing fresh air, and running! Most importantly: it’s super fun!

Come along with Design teachers Mr. Bingham and Ms. Wells for Maker Club! Dive into hands-on projects with tools and technology and discover how to create amazing things. This trimester, we’ll focus on cardboard construction, exploring the fantastic possibilities of this versatile material. We’ll be making everything from wearable costumes and functional furniture, to waterproof boats!

Fiber arts are fun with Ms. Alonso! Students in grades 2-4 will learn all about different ways to create useful objects and beautiful art with yarn. Students will learn the basics of knitting, crocheting, and weaving over the course of the winter trimester. They will have the opportunity to work with their hands, strengthen their fine motor skills, and develop lifelong hobbies while community building with other students (and teachers!) with similar interests.

Ignite Your Drama | 3:30-4:45 pm | Grades 2-4 | $550
Join our own Timothy House Drama Teacher, Ms. Kangas, on a fun adventure where students will explore and cultivate their dramatic spark by learning the craft of acting while fostering self-expression, creativity, and collaboration. Using scripts and songs, students will learn storytelling techniques and build characters as they expand their imaginations. While playing drama games, students will develop their social skills by role playing with their peers. Through rehearsals and a final performance, students will build confidence, their collaborative skills, self-management skills, and learn to communicate effectively onstage and off.

From edible experiments to homemade body products, Kitchen Chemistry offers students an opportunity to be chemists in the kitchen and create a variety of items with everyday home ingredients. Time to put on your apron, grab those tools, and dig into the science of at-home experiments!

Lego Design Thinkers is brought to you by Kodely! In this workshop, students will unleash their creativity and problem-solving skills using Lego bricks to tackle fun challenges. They'll learn foundational engineering concepts, build critical thinking skills, and explore design thinking through hands-on projects. This engaging experience fosters collaboration, innovation, and a love for learning as they bring their ideas to life through playful exploration and teamwork.

Pickleball | 3:30-4:45 pm | Grades 1-4 | $440
Pickleballers NYC Children's/After-School Program is designed to teach children the game of pickleball in a fun and interactive environment. Children learn the basic skills and rules through games and drills that teach students to play and keep score in games by the end of the program. The course's emphasis is on having fun and improving each and every session.

Swimming | 3:30-5:15 pm | Grades 2-4 | $675
Dwight School offers swimming lessons and aquatic safety as a part of our after-School program. Our aquatics team of certified staff instructs the sessions. The class focus will not only be on learning to swim but also on thriving in the water at all levels. Lessons are always 45 minutes long with a 4:1 student:teacher ratio. For older, more experienced swimmers we will offer stroke enhancement classes, which are oriented toward competitive development, and may be expanded to a 6:1 ratio. Students will be transported to the Dwight School Athletic Center by the Dwight shuttle bus and will return to 705 Columbus Avenue at approximately 5:25 pm.
